A one-on-one mentorship by Andy BoZa
What separates a professional production from an unfinished one is rarely the mix or the mastering.
CTRL-Q is a live, private mentorship dedicated to the process that defines a recording before it ever reaches a mixer — and I work directly on your music.
Coming SoonThe Reality
The editing stage is where the energy, identity, and coherence of a song are either built — or permanently lost. Once a session moves forward, those decisions cannot be undone.
Music is Energy
Regardless of the genre, the style, the artist — what you are really working with is energy. Energy that needs to be shaped, organized, and directed with artistic vision before it can reach its full potential.
Recording captures a moment. But capturing a moment is not enough. That energy needs to be molded — structured with intention, stamped with identity, translated from raw idea into something that is ready to hit.
That work happens in the editing stage. Not in the mix.
The editing stage is where you leave your mark on the music. Where the artistic vision takes form. Where the energy of a performance is refined into something that arrives at the mix already charged — already carrying the impact it was always meant to have. Miss it — and the song never becomes what it could have been.
“If this process doesn’t happen at the editing stage, it won’t happen anywhere else.”
Your mix engineer is not thinking about it. Your mastering engineer is not going back to fix it. If your producer or the artist skips this process — it stays skipped. Forever.
The mix is not the only place where magic happens. But the editing stage is the only place where the foundation of that magic is built.
The Experience & The Offer
This is not a course. Not a pre-recorded video. Not a PDF that collects dust. CTRL-Q is a direct, live, one-on-one experience — built around your music, your questions, and your growth as a professional.
Bring a current project and I work on it with you directly — in real time. You don’t just learn the process. You hear the transformation on the spot, on music you actually care about.
Every decision is made in real time — visible, audible, explainable. Ask questions as they arise. Understand the professional reasoning behind every move, not as theory, but as practice.
Every other program dedicates a chapter to editing. CTRL-Q dedicates 6 focused hours to nothing else. That depth of attention simply does not exist anywhere else in music education.
After the mentorship, book a free 30-minute session at any time. No charge. No limit. The relationship doesn’t end when the 6 hours do.
Full fluency in both. The depth of a technical and creative conversation changes when it happens in the language where you think and work most precisely.

Inside the Session
Before we begin, I want to meet you and learn about your craft. We talk about who you are, how you work, what you create, and what you want to achieve. This allows me to adapt the entire system to your specific needs — so the mentorship feels built for you from the first minute.
Before touching a single file, I reframe how you listen to a session. Why editing is a creative act. What professional consistency sounds like — and why it starts here, not in the mix.
How to select the best takes without losing energy or emotional truth. The difference between technical correctness and musical authenticity — and how to choose the right take for the right moment.
Using Beat Detective and VocAlign with a creative approach — not to fix problems, but to give the song a superior identity and a more powerful impact.
Melodyne and Auto-Tune used as creative tools, not corrections. The approach Grammy-level engineers use to fix pitch without removing the humanity from a performance.
Noise, breaths, silences, transitions — the invisible architecture of a professional recording. How the spaces between the notes are edited with as much intention as the notes themselves.
The decisions made before a mix engineer opens the session determine what they can and cannot achieve. I build the session the way professionals hand it off — with clarity, structure, and sonic identity already in place.
The complete quality control methodology that applies to every session, every genre, every project. A system you can implement the moment the mentorship ends — and carry into every production that follows.
The Tools
The CTRL-Q system is built around Pro Tools — the professional standard for recording, editing, and session preparation at the highest level. Certain steps of the process are deeply tied to Pro Tools’ workflow and must be demonstrated within that environment. However, the concepts, decisions, and creative principles apply to any DAW.
Don’t work in Pro Tools? That’s fine. Every concept demonstrated in CTRL-Q translates directly into Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One, or any other professional DAW. The system is universal. The tools are just the vehicle.
These tools and plugins are different options to achieve the results we are searching for — you don’t need to have them all. However, the combination of several tools is what makes the difference. You don’t need to purchase any of them for this mentorship — they will be explained as part of the system I work with.

Who this is for
You create sessions every day. You know something is missing between the tracking and the mix, but the gap is hard to name. CTRL-Q names it — and eliminates it.
You’ve recorded hundreds of sessions. The editing stage either adds or costs you credibility every time a mix engineer opens your prep work. Raise that standard permanently.
You’re producing your own music and the results don’t match your vision. The problem is almost certainly in the editing and preparation — and it’s fixable with the right workflow.
Understanding what a session should look like before it reaches you changes how you work, what you accept, and how you communicate standards to the producers you work with.
Learn the process that schools don’t teach — the invisible stage between recording and mixing where professional productions are actually built.
If you work with music and believe the quality of your productions matters, CTRL-Q will change how you hear, how you work, and what you deliver.
Your Mentor
Andrés F. Borda Zabala
Born in Colombia and trained in Los Angeles, Andrés built his foundation at the intersection of technical precision and musical intuition. He spent nearly four years at Sony Music Mexico before becoming Head Recording Engineer at GML Estudios — the studio of Carlos Vives — where seven years of daily work across 124 songs shaped a methodology that would earn 7 Latin Grammy Awards, 1 American Grammy, and multiple nominations throughout his career.
The work speaks for itself: 007 Spectre alongside composer Thomas Newman, Encanto by Disney Animation alongside Germaine Franco, and a catalog of more than 750 albums and singles with artists including Natalia Lafourcade, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Andrés Cepeda, Fonseca, Manuel Medrano, Lila Downs, and many more — currently expanding that work through Musiversal, with over 1,100 remote sessions around the globe, working side by side with musicians, producers, and artists of all kinds.
Every recording he has touched has been shaped by the same process — recording, editing, and mixing with intention.
CTRL-Q is not a course designed around a curriculum. It is the working methodology of an engineer who uses it every day.
The Philosophy
“Editing and preparation in music production are not optional technical steps. They are essential creative processes that define the final result. The goal is not perfection — it is consistency. The kind of consistency that gives every song a clear identity and a professional standard.”
Investment
CTRL-Q is priced as a premium professional mentorship — not as an online course. The difference is not only in the format. It’s in what you leave with: a real understanding of the editing process, applied to your own music, with a workflow you can use on every session you ever make. The founding-member price is available for the first sessions only. It will not return.
Limited sessions available per month.

Common Questions
The CTRL-Q workflow is demonstrated in Pro Tools. However, the concepts and decision-making apply to any DAW. If you work in Logic, Ableton, or another platform, the understanding you gain transfers directly.
No problem. If you don’t have a session ready, I work on one of my own professional sessions. Bringing your own project is encouraged, as the real-time transformation of your own music is one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
Yes. The mentorship can be completed as one intensive day or split into two sessions across two days — whichever works better for your schedule. Both formats cover the complete CTRL-Q system.
CTRL-Q is designed for anyone who works with music sessions — from production students to professional engineers. The depth adjusts to your experience level. What matters is that you are serious about improving the quality of your work.
After the mentorship, book a 30-minute session directly on the calendar — at any time, at no charge. There is no expiration and no limit. This is part of my commitment to your development.
Yes. CTRL-Q is delivered in both English and Spanish with equal fluency. You choose the language that allows you to think and work most clearly.
Reserve your private CTRL-Q session and bring your music. Six hours from now, it will sound like a different production.
